State Sovereignty
The tenth Amendment states:
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
The Constitution delegated few, enumerated powers to the federal government, reserving all remaining powers to the States and the people. Thus, powers of the federal government were the exception.
Our federal republic was created by the joint action of the States and the people. It has been gradually perverted into federal control in the domestic affairs of the States.
The States need to reclaim their legitimate role in federal affairs and legislation. This means making the federal government divest itself of operations not authorized by the Constitution and extracting the federal government from such enterprises, whether or not they compete with private enterprise.
